10. Q A Worldwide Cable Clamp - Cord Organizer $2.04
These clamps are a great and pretty cheap way to organize all your chords. The reviews for this item are all good. Most people even said this was an easy item to hang onto and that its great for a lot of additional areas in the home besides the office.
9. AmazonBasics 12-sheet Cross-Cut Paper/CD/Credit Card Shredder with Basket $49.99
As far as reviews go…people love this thing, and as far as shredders go this is the THING…from the Fantastic Four! This is a $50 shredder that doesn’t only advertise that it shreds credit cards and cd’s, but according to a couple of reviews it mows through them. In our opinion, great deal on a great shredder!
8. The Restt Bluetooth Keyboard $39.95
Where to start. Ok, so one lonely night…the desk organizer and the keyboard started to cuddle up and then your pen holder and charging ipad/iphone holder joined in, and in the morning….this product was born. If you have a lot of ”accoutrement” on the reg then you need this thing. As someone who usually misplaces 15 things at least 25 times a day AND never remembers to charge my phone, this is going on my wishlist.
7. Fascinations Levitron Globe World Stage $56.79
This product has some mixed feelings amongst its reviewers, unfortunately. When I first saw this product I thought it was awesome, there are a lot of floating desk globes out there but this is the coolest one I’ve seen. After reading some of the reviews I wasn’t thinking I would pay $55 for it, but there were people who had this thing working well for them.
6. Epson Wireless All-In-One Color Ink-Jet Printer, Copier Scanner $149.99
It doesn’t matter who you are, at some point in your life, you’ve wanted to take the printer out back and beat it to a pulp for the 5 millionth paper-jam or the fact that it’s stopped working. Epson printers are great and this has a lot of people pleased. Most people are giving it 4 and 5 stars. One person did say it did not come with a USB cord; it’s probably good practice to check the box when purchasing. You just never know. This printer will print right from your smart phone or tablet and also works with AirPrint It can also print and copy both sides! Epson obviously does the all-in-one printer right; and if you are looking for something with a little more muscle Epson also makes a bigger (not commercial) sized printer.
5. Livescribe 4 GB Sky Wi-Fi Smartpen 180.99
If you’re a writer, or just a note-taker, or just love having the coolest gadgets for your desk…this is the pen for you. The Livescribe will record what you write with it and anything you say or hear while writing and it can do this together or separately. Ok, also if you’re an aspiring agent of espionage, you’ll love this pen. Most of the people who reviewed this product were happy with the Livescribe pen. Of course, there were still people who didn’t like it. The two big cons I’ve seen on this product are that it does not have auto on/off and the age-old “I loose the pen-cap” issue that people have had with any non-clicky pen. In my opinion, you need to get daily or weekly use out of this product. If you can’t see yourself using it a lot, it may be the most expensive pen you misplace. If you do have a lot of use for this pen, I think it will become one of your favorite lifetime purchases.
4. Good Call IG1 Bluetooth Wireless Handset/Docking Station $79.99
This product is IDEAL for the home office. You get all of the functionality of your iPhone while receiving a call through it. As an iPhone user, I have been in some situations where this could come in handy, in the middle of a text or email conversation and get a call or need to thumb through your phone while still in a phone conversation. As a person who works in a home office with 4 landlines and all workers being iPhone savvy I have seen plenty of times that this product would come in handy, it also eliminates searching for charged landline handset when needing to use a hardline. Where I see this product is not helpful would be if you live in a location where cellphone signal is less than consistent or nonexistent, when a hardline is more necessary.
3. Omnio WOW-KEYS Full-Sized, QWERTY PC or MAC Keyboard $32.19
I want one! I’m always using my iPhone, and keeping it charged is a challenge for me. When my Mophie case is charged I have no problem, but this is charged less than my phone! I work in a home office. Some days I’m at my desk, sometimes kitchen table, sometimes couch and some days I’ve even worked in two or three separate rooms throughout the day. Trying to stay plugged in on the day-to-day is tough. At first, I had some reservations about this product. As I read through descriptions and reviews, I found out this works for your mac or pc as well as the phone you have docked in it. No matter what, I can have my phone docked and charging, if I need to get up its right within reach and I skip the process of finding the only open plug-in the house where my phone is charging if I need it. There were a few cons in the reviews I read regarding functionality, however the positives outweighed the negatives on this one and for USB keyboards it is totally affordable. Maybe the kinks will be worked out if they release an updated product that is compatible with the iPhone5.
2. Jawbone Jambox Wireless Bluetooth Speaker $129.99
I have been wanting one of these since a friend got one from a Klout perk. This little thing is the perfect size, it fits in your hoodie pocket like a champ! And despite its size, you’d be surprised at home many situations this thing can hold its own in the volume and sound quality realm. From my friends experience, keeping this thing charged is the only draw back. I can also attest to the durability. My friend has taken his Jambox with him to two music festivals, on of which, he was pretty sloppy. It was dropped and exposed to all elements, still works great….when its charged. As far as other users, people are writing novels about this thing, geez. Aside from one unhappy camper I found who had a Jambox with a faulty battery and a bad run-in with customer support, most reviewers love and use their Jamboxes daily.
1. TrekDesk Treadmill Desk $483.77
A few months ago I heard that standing work stations were gaining popularity. I know there are added benefits to this in regards to health and productivity. I also saw a friend post pictures to Facebook of their makeshift standing work station. Personally I think my lower back would hurt so bad by the end of the day I might scream at a baby animal, but so does spending my day working from a beanbag chair. So about two days before I looked at this list to start forming my opinions and post, I saw an ad online for a treadmill desk. Trying to work in a work out would be amazing if I was standing on a treadmill while I worked. You can’t say that’s wrong. When I saw this at the top of the list I totally agreed. Working out regularly promotes great productivity during the work day and is something I struggle keeping up with, in addition to my normal schedule. My only problem is, I have a desk and no treadmill, if I purchased this I would have two desks and a treadmill. The reviews for this thing are all primarily good, of course these people wanted to make this move so I am not saying it is for everyone. One review I read said that the TrekDesk relieved lower back pain. I want to give this a try, standing stationery does cause lower back pain for me, but the slow walk may be the missing ingredient in the sauce. As far as I’m concerned this is coolest home office gadget. Your productivity is improved, you can move flawlessly from work to workout and you don’t even have to leave your home office!
